Grand walnut fireplace, Louis XV style, made during the 19th century. The fireplace features delicately carved rockery and foilage. The jambs are decorated with acanthus leaves and are both crowned by the upper half of a woman. With their arms stretched out; one arm resting on the shelf, and the other holding onto an open flower. The centre of the lintel is decorated with a ribbon cartouche and a string of parles. Foilage surrounds either side of the cartouche. The shelf is crowned is crowned with a medallion featuring a figure evoking an antique mythology. It features a woman with goat legs, accompanied with a little satyr. The woman holds a shephard's staff in her hand
The flowers the women are holding are not the originals one.
