This large Napoléon III style fireplace was made out of walnut wood during the second half of the 19th cenutury. The fireplace's mantle, composed of highly curved jambs supports an overmantel mirror surrounded by a moulded frame. The tapered pilasters crowned by capitals with acanthus leaves are on either side of the mirror. An arched pediment, features a carved woman's head with fruit and foliage, and crowns the mirror.
This fireplace is sold with its original copper insert but without any marble floor. A marble floor could be made to order.
