Beautiful antique Neo-Renaissance style walnut wood fireplace lade during the 19th century. The jambs are decorated with fluted spiral columns, rising to acanthus leaf capitals, which frame a lintel carved with foliage flowing out from behind a shield. Above, rests a basket arch opening and carved latticework. A cornice supported by a row of corbels rises above. A trapezoid hood, carved with three recessed panels, rests between this cornice and another large multi-tiered projecting cornice above. Such a monumental mantel, a product of remarkable craftsmanship, brings nobility and character to your home.
