Japanese style cachepot in glazed earthenware with medallion decoration of animated life scenes

Glazed earthenware cachepot with engraved decoration including four quadrilobed medallions adorned with scenes from everyday life: men fishing, go game, Japanese calligraphy, men chatting. Between the medallions unfolds a decor of interlacing and flowers on a blue background characteristic of the Japanese decorations. This cachepot was made in France during the 19th century.

Maison des Bambous Alfred PERRET et Ernest VIBERT (attributed to) - Far Eastern inspired display cabinet

The realization of this charming Japanese-inspired cabinet is attributed to the Maison des Bambous by Perret et Vibert. The lower part opens with two doors adorned with panels decorated with Japanese characters in ivory marquetry, bone and mother-of-pearl, and two drawers adorned with horse warriors inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The upper part opens to a door and a drawer adorned with friezes of mother-of-pearl and is embellished with shelves. The whole is surmounted by a display cabinet opening by a glass door surrounded by a geometric frieze of mother-of-pearl, discovering a shelf stretched with red fabric.

Japanese style cylinder desk

Japanese style cylinder desk made in the late 19th century. It is decorated with traditional Asian scenes and floral motifs inlaid with mother-of-pearl and ivory. On the apron are two drawers with bronze handles depicting characters in relief. The cylinder reveals four drawers. It is topped by a display cabinet. The desk is based on four claw feet, joined by a stretcher.

Large vase with a bronze mount and dragons

This important enamelled ceramic Chinese vase with a patinated bronze mount has an enamelled decor on our vase was made in brown, red and green shades. Applied with friezes, we can recognize the influence of the Islam and Chinese arts through the succession of geometrical and flowery motifs. The patinated bronze foot and neck also depict an open work decor of which the drawn motif take their inspiration from the same sources. Finally, two small dragons, typical of the Chinese folklore, come to lighten up the mount by their presence.
