Exceptionnal baroque fireplace from Italy, late XVIIIth century. Made of Statuary from Carrara marble and Brocatelle marble. In the center of the fireplace is a beautiful marble bust surrounded by a marble inlay decor yellow and white ( Statuary Carrara marble and Brocatelle marble). On the fireplace we can see two putti holding bronze candelabras.

This Napoleon III style overmantel was made in the 19th century in wood and stucco painted in white. On the center, an oval mirror is topped by a woman's face with acanthus and a shell, framed by garlands of fruits. A frieze of leaves and acorn oak surrounds a beveled mirror. Two levels of protrusion are composing the rest of the overmantel, decorated with scrolls and gridlines. The cornice is ornemented by a frieze carved with floral detail

This Louis XV-style Carrara fireplace stands out through its symmetrical and detailed sculpture. White Carrara marble, sometimes with gray veins, has brightening and delicacy qualities that enable the sculptor to work in fine detail. This fineness/delicacy can be seen over the band and fireplace’s legs. The band is thinner on the sides and thickens in the center, producing its curved shape. Thin and hollow moldings follow the contours of the band. In the band’s center, acanthus leaves create the shape of a sun. The leaf tips stand out slightly, creating volume. High-relief curled leaves skirt this central form. On the sides, two flowers with leaves extended on either side. At the top of the fireplace's legs, the central shape of the band is recreated by the acanthus leaves. We can notice that a flower from the acanthus leaves runs/gets down the length of the leg, moving to the right for the right foot and the left for the left. In the second part of the leg, there are four leaves following each other from the largest at the top to the smallest at the bottom. Flutes longing the length of the rest of the leg. These patterns are first hollowed and then filled in. This fireplace is accompanied by its symmetrical cast-iron interior that echoes the mantel's motifs. The center reuses the central pattern of the band formed by the acanthus leaves. In the hollow of the fireplace’s curves, a half-naked woman and a child are set in interlinked circles. These circles are themselves surrounded by intricate scrolls echoing the leaf motif.

This Napoleon III-style fireplace is characterized by its rich motifs and details. The quality of the Carrara marble, sourced from quarries in the Apuan Alps, allows the marble to be worked with finesse and detail. On the band, pearls form a rectangular frame. Floral, plant, and cultural motifs in a mix of low and high relief protrude from the pearls. A central pan flute is mixed with a wreath of flowers and gardening tools such as a rake, shovel, and sickle. The sickle refers to the ears of wheat carved on either side of the fireplace’s legs, tied with ropes in which field flowers are caught. The sides of the legs are decorated with laurel leaves arranged on a chain, creating a garland of leaves. The lower parts of the legs resemble the base of antique columns, and the entire lower part of the mantel is decorated with a frieze of laurel leaves. This fireplace reflects the Napoleon III style. A rich décor and multiple inspirations, particularly in the Louis XVI style, a style borrowing from nature and Greek Antiquity.

This fireplace is made of white demi-statuaire marble, a light and smooth stone that enhances the sculpted details. The entablature is restrained, highlighted on the façade by a frieze adorned with a garland of leaves hanging down, held at each end by two rosette flowers.
