Antique Louis XVI style fireplace made out of marble with flutes

This beautiful antique Louis XVI style fireplace was made out of red marble during the 19th century. The frieze, slightly curved, is decorated with rudent flutings. The jambs, placed with cut sides, are feet-consoles with windings. Very beautiful decorative qualities of this veined red marble for this fireplace. This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without the original marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).

Pair of Régence style double dual-sided doors with roses

These two Régence style doors with two leaves were made in the late 19th century. They are adorned on the two sides with a beautiful paneled decoration framing on the center a flowery rose with acanthus leaves. The handles are also nicely decorated with chiseled motifs reminding of the Rococo style.

Fireback with Francis I of France monogram, 19th century

This rectangular fireback was cast in the late 19th century. It is adorned with a central medallion depicting a crowned F in a fleur-de-lis decor and framed by a crown of scallops. It is the monogram of Francis I, King of France between 1515 and 1547, of which we can find a similar model in the Château of Blois stairs.

Fireback with the coat of arms of Phillipe II of Spain dated 1608. It bears the motto: "DOMINUS MIHI ADJUTOR". A similar fireback, bearing the same date, is kept in the Arlon Museum and is reproduced in the book "Plaques de cheminées" by Henri Carpentier.

Jacques Philippe IMBERTON, Orientalist-Style Bowl, second half of the 19th century

This bowl was made by Imberton in the second half of the 19th century. Jacques Philippe Imberton was born in Portugal in 1846. This glassmaker and enameller participated in the major exhibitions held between 1878 and 1889, during which he received several gold medals. He notably invented a new glass enamelling process, a technical achievement that took his name. This glass is a fine example of his work. Its enamelled decoration, standing out clearly against the smoked glass, is inspired by oriental motifs forming a geometric frieze. The ornamentation of the base mirrors that of the neck; in the middle of the base, the bulge of the baluster also features delicate decoration. With its design, this bowl can be compared to an enamelled glass mosque lamp made by Imberton in 1881, which is housed at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris.

Louis XV style fireplace, highly sculpted in Carrara marble, decorated with flowers

Crafted in Carrara marble, this Louis XV–style fireplace displays a white tone lightly veined with grey, characteristic of this material. The finely polished marble highlights the richness of the carvings and the refinement of the lines. The entablature adopts a sinuous form, with a central panel adorned with a large carved shell. This is framed by scrolls of acanthus leaves and floral bouquets including roses and daisies, all finely executed. The curved lines of the panel flow harmoniously into the jambs, emphasising the arbalest-shaped opening of the hearth, a hallmark of the Louis XV style. The jambs, curved and carved in high relief, are decorated at their upper section with a large inverted shell accompanied by flower garlands. The lower section is adorned with large acanthus leaves, accentuating the vertical thrust of the composition. The shelf, slightly overhanging in form, follows the sinuous movement of the whole. The cast iron interior is decorated with floral motifs and rocaille cartouches, echoing the ornamental spirit of the façade. The whole demonstrates precise carving work and a balanced composition, typical of creations in the Louis XV style.

This fireplace, crafted in the 19th century from Carrara marble, features a façade typical of the Louis XV style, with a wide and continuous overall movement. The frieze, with its sinuous profile, is adorned with carved decoration running across its entire length. At the centre, a large shell unfolds, framed by symmetrical volutes and scrolls. These are enriched with various floral elements: well-defined petals, small flowers in relief, finely cut leaves and curling stems. The composition follows a regular pattern in which each element fits naturally within the curved line of the façade. The curved jambs extend this same decorative vocabulary. They display carved leaf drops, volutes, and isolated floral motifs, all sculpted from the solid marble. The bases remain simply moulded, while the upper sections present denser ornamentation that flows seamlessly into the central frieze. The overall decoration is characterised by strong relief and an alternation of vegetal forms and scrolls. The mantel shelf, also in Carrara marble, follows the curve of the façade with a multi-profiled edge. The proportions are balanced, and the top surface shows the subtle grey nuances typical of this marble.
