Gilded trumeau mirror with carved wood, Louis XVI style from the 19th century. The frame design is a variation of mouldings; one frieze alternating between three pearls and the tip of an asparagus, and the other frieze is one of hearts-and-darts. A wreath of flowers and laurel leaves crowns the frame. A few laurel branches surround an “au naturel” floral feature of roses, narcissus and peonies. The decorative elements of this mantel are typicam of the Louis XVI style, with regards to its sensitivity and love of Nature.
