White speckled marble Louis XVI style fireplace mantel from the 19th century. The main ornamental motif is the acanthus leaf expressed in various ways: on the frieze in a central oval rosette, in square rosettes above the jambs and as full lush leaves falling from the top of the console jambs. A string of pearls frames the entablature panels and completes this refined mantel, typical of the delicacy of the Louis XVI style.
