Louis XVI style mantel with bronzes
The subtle scrolls of the console jambs with volutes above temper the straight lines of the shelf and entablature of this mantel. Long paneled décors carved into the marble adorn the frieze and the jambs. Here again gilded bronze beads underline the contour of each panel. The end blocks are adorned with knotted flower crowns, a leitmotif of the Louis XV style interior decoration found on furniture and ornaments. They embellish some of the fireplace mantels in palaces of Bagatelle and Versailles.
This mantel is carved in white Arrabescato marble.
No insert is available. We can have a marble hearth made.
