Restorations on the entablature and on the side,
Grand Louis XV style white marble mantel from the late 18th century. The canted console jambs present a rich décor of scrolls, acanthus leaves and roses. On the side, rosettes in volutes underline the curve of the jambs.
A fan shaped three leafed pearl laced acanthus opens up at the center of the entablature surrounded by an array of stylized foliage.
The authenticity and refinement of execution of this mantel is revealed in every small detail. This mantel is exceptional by the matte white of its marble and its imposing dimensions.
