This Louis XV style mantelpiece was made in the 19th century in yellow and red breccia marble. The lintel extends on either side of a floral motif with extremely cut and irregular shapes, characteristic of this style. The mouldings that adorn it follow the curves and counter-curves of its line. The slanting jambs feature an outward-facing scroll at the top, ending above a flower. At the bottom, they are structured by a moulded scroll giving them a slight curve; they flare out slightly above the base.
This fireplace is sold without any fireplace insert nor marble floor but could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
