This very beautiful Louis XV style mantel was made during the 19th century, carved out of marble from Carrara. A large shell mingled with leaves and framed with rosettes adorns the middle of the front of the entablature as well as the tops of the jambs. The latter are deeply curved and decorated with sculptures of foliage, among the foliage there is flowers falling in the upper portion of the jambs.
Note the depth of the lateral panels – deeper that the shelf.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor but they can be made to order.
