This very beautiful antique Louis XVI style fireplace made out of Blanc de Carrare marble was made during the 19th century. The two jambs are half-columns that are fluted and tapered which are supported by a pedestal decorated with acanthus leaves. The half-columns are crowned by a captial with delicately carved foliage. The lintel of the fireplace is decorated with a frieze of foliated scrolls in an antique style.
This fireplace is sold with an old cast iron insert but without any marble floor.
