This beautiful Louis XVI style fireplace in Carrara marble was made in the 19th century. Of an apparent simplicity, this model is worked with finesse in its details and its proportions.
The curved frieze is decorated with three rosettes in medallions and a row of pearls, while the half columns are finely fluted and decorated with rows of asparagus. The finesse of the sculpture is highlighted by the purity of the Carrara white, lightly speckled with gray.
This fireplace is sold with a modern cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order.
