This beautiful antique Carrara marble mantel rests on trim and elegant corbel type jambs, rising to scroll shaped oak leaf tops - which give its name to this style of mantel: the oak leaf mantel. The heads are adorned with square rosette motifs, typical of the Neo-Classical spirit of the Louis XVI style. An oblong rosette, is carved at the center of the entablature front. The original cast iron insert is garnished with shells and foliage, set against a fishnet background.
