Origin:
France 19th century
Louis XV style mantel carved in a Breche d’Alep marble, with a shape similar to the “Pompadour”, popular in the 19th century. Its canted jambs are slightly curved with heads adorned with volutes. The entablature has a “groove and panel” design, typically with a central circular motif flanked with elongated rectangles that fill the whole front and follow the lines of the curved hearth opening. The wave of the shelf contrasts to the straight line of the front.
This fireplace is sold without any insert nor marble floor but those can be made on order.
