This very beautiful Louis XVI fireplace was made out of white Carrara marble during the second half of the 19th century. The curved jambs are decorated with thick acanthus leaves. The moulded entablature is carved in the centre with a foliaged medallion. The sides of this antique fireplace are paneled and decorated with air vents. The cast iron insert is elaborately decorated with a woman's head placed inside a medallion and surrounded by flowers and foliage.
This fireplace is sold with its original cast iron insert but without any marble floor. The marble floor could be made to order.
