Louis XVI style mantel from the 19th century. To the strict straight lines of the style, this mantel ads curved jambs. Here, the tall corbel jambs, carved with volutes above, are grooved from top to bottom with fluting. They rise to heads adorned with square rosettes. The front of the entablature, slightly protruding, is also covered with fluting. The multi-layered shelf curves, following the lines of the composition. The lively Red marble from Languedoc, with its powerfully contrasting white veins, ads character to the mantel.
