This beautiful Louis XV style mantel was sculpted in a Griotte Red marble in the late 19th century.
The sinious lines of the shelf and the header are typical of the Louis XV style. Thus, we find on the center of the header a decor forming a cabochon in a rich torus and acanthus leaves surround. This central motif is flanked by two beautiful volutes forming an oblong moulding on the header. The paneled jambs are slightly puffed on their upper part.
This fireplace comes with an antique cast iron insert adapted to this fireplace but without any marble floor. This one could be made to order (please ask for marble availability).
