Louis XIV style fireback with the Sun King mascarons

This fireback was made of cast iron in the 19th century. It is adorned with a beautiful mascaron of the Sun King, Louis XIV, framed by putti in a branches decoration.
A similar fireback is conserved in the Musée de Soissons (France) and is illustrated in Henri Carpentier's book "Firebacks".
