This large fireback was made of cast iron in the 19th century. It is adorned with a Louis XV style decoration with motif of shells, acanthus leaves and braces. On the center are depicting Zeus and Danaë. the god in love with her changes himself into a golden rain to make love to her. From this union was born Perseus.
