Far Eastern style stand, circa 1872/1885
This rare walnut wood stand of Far Eastern inspiration is adorned with gilded chiseled bronze medallions.
These ornaments are set in a carved wood Chinese style lattice belt.
The molded legs end with lion paws inlaid with bronze claws and resting on balls - an indication of the attention to detail in this piece.
Another larger medallion adorns the cross-strut, with dragon and turtle motifs.
The 'Escalier de Cristal, Pannier Laroche&Co' brand tag is still under the marble top.
